Every villain needs a hideout, and Zarota is no different. He’s looking down at his minions furiously working, surrounded by video walls.
This is Colonel Zarota’s cameo reveal. We don’t quite get to see his entire face yet, because there’s still meant to be some mystery as indicated by his features being obscured by an ominous shadow. His name, Ambroz Zarota translates roughly to “immortal conspiracy” in Slovenian.
Of course it’s important for Zarota to be dripping with symbols as our villian. Skull medallion, double-headed eagles, all-seeing eye within a triangle and the ”Hand in waistcoat” pose which is rumored to have Masonic connotations. If you find this type of symbolism interesting, check out Codex Magica by Texe Marrs
Continuing with the Masonic symbols, at the bottom of the page we have Zarota standing on a literal corner-stone followed by an initiation. This is play on the Masonic concept of initiation, but also as a reference to the reader’s initiation into a crash course on conspiracy theories.
In the debut issue, Lex and Cal take a trip to Jekyll Island circa 1913 – the birthplace of the Federal Reserve. Here they must fight off hordes of sheeple as they uncover the plans of Alexander Graham Bell, JP Morgan, William Rockefeller, and other elites.
