This is our first introduction to Luna, so it’s appropriate that this scene shows her in front of the moon. There are a few recurring themes with this scene, and with Luna specifically.
Reference to Project BLUEBIRD, a top-secret program that was a precursor to Project MKULTRA: a top-secret government mind control program that started after the second World War. She has a tattoo of two bluebirds on her left shoulder.
Another nod to a mind-control program, this time one that requires a bit more speculation: Project MONARCH.
A symbol of carefully crafted building and foundations. Also a strong object to build upon after “filling in the gaps” to create a much larger structure.
Luna’s pose in the last panel of this page holds a lot of meaning. This same pose can be seen in depictions of figures from George Washington to Baphomet, depending on where you look.
Lex and Cal travel back in time and break up a Skull & Bones ritual in the Tomb at Yale. Meanwhile, Carmot and Vodnar try to rescue the brothers from the W.I.L.D. Machine. Luna makes a cameo appearance, and Colonel’s plans for her are revealed.
